Pretty Shimmery Glimmery card for some Challenges!

CTS-178-1-ssw-Barb-Derksen

I almost never do this, make a card for two challenges at once, but this card just begged to be made and nicely slotted into two different places.  So I’m putting this card up for both Case This Sketch 178 – following this week’s sketch:

As well as entering my card into Simon Says Wednesday – ADD SOME SHIMMER!

CTS-178-2-ssw-Barb-Derksen

I love this designer paper by SEI which is shimmer all in itself.  It’s actually a double sided paper but I chose the soft gradient side.  I stampped the sentiment with “hello” from Paper Smooches and placed it in a frame from Stampin’ Up. I punched it out and glued it over some white crochet twine.

The finishing shimmery glimmery touch are these lovely chipboard florals by K & C Company. I placed both a sequin and a teeny tiny gem in the middle of each  for maximum bling!

Mojo Monday 453 Card

Mojo-Monday-453---Barb-Derksen

I’m posting my card for the Mojo Monday 453 Card challenge (which I’m playing along with my SIL Judy today)  I used a few strips of Colorbok Delilah DP which matched nicely with the butterfly color.  The butterfly and daisies are from K&C Company.  I layered bright white cardstock onto some lawn green and sewed it upon my sewing machine.  The final touch is the flag which I stamped with a Paper Smooches stamp!

Thanks for popping in today!

Baby Milestones Heart FREEBIE for your Silhouette

A little tiny nose, ears like two delicate shells, rosy cheeks and soft lashes, downy hair and sigh-soft baby skin – I’m a Gramma for the second time and I wanted to celebrate by making a FREE cutting file which will help me mark each milestone along the journey.  I couldn’t find anything out there that was already made up so I designed my own.

(Zipped File Folder)

For PERSONAL use only

This download includes all you need to mark off all the special months and years.  This is a sweet prop which you can customize as you need.  Personally – I used the small single heart template(move the “1 month old” off before cutting”  out of paper but then used it to cut a nice stiff heart from foam core board.  The outside “frill” from paper – I chose a pretty watercolor paper (on the firm side)  The numbers have coordinating offsets.  I used black vinyl for the black offset, then glitter cardstock for the actual numbers, gluing them on.  This ends up being just over 6 inches in size, the perfect finishing touch to baby’s photos.

Enjoy!

Any suggestions of what else I might design for baby?

Fluttery Card for CAS on Sunday #85

CAS-on-Sunday-#85---Barb-Derksen

I can’t believe it has been SIX WEEKS since I posted last!  So many wonderful things have happened in the meantime – life is like that.  More about that tomorrow when I will be posting a FREE new cutting file for your Silhouette Cameo or cutting machine which handles SVG files.

I decided that rather than be a lazy bum and go to bed early (though the bed looks SO inviting these busy days) that I would take a card challenge and this week’s one appealed to me – I choose:

CAS on Sunday # 85 – the theme being “BUTTERFLIES”

I am glad it is a simple theme, this one practically made itself.  I used Momenta watercolor look cardstock for the base (couldn’t watercolor it better myself Winking smile) a swirl stamp I believe by Fiskars, Thanks sentiment from Paper Smooches and the pretty butterfly from K&C Company (I replaced two amber gems of the wings for pretty mauve sequins.

I thank you for stopping by!
